Business Profile

ABOUT US The Physio Therapy Centre is a well established, multi-therapy practice,in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, whose therapists treat to reduce pain and increase function. The therapies include Physiotherapy, Podiatry/Chiropody, Acupuncture, Clinical Pilates, Alexander Technique and Sports Masssage Therapy. The therapists treat a range of problems which include back, neck and joint pain, sprains and strains to ligaments, tendons, and muscles, sports injuries, and foot problems. Orthopaedic rehabilitation and postural correction education, play a major part in our treatment plan. Treatment techniques include mobilisation, manipluation, massage, and rehabilitation through exercises, with a definite holistic approach. The centre is often asked the difference between a physiotherapist, an osteopath & a chiropractor - we all treat the same patients, but have different approaches.

ACCUPUNTURE When you feel unwell or simply out of sorts, it is a sign that your bodys delicate equilibrium has been upset. Whether the root causes are physical, emotional or a combination of the two, symptoms of illness can emerge, indicating that the energy you need to regain health and well-being is low. Traditional acupuncture is a complex system of medicine developed in the Far East more than 2,500 years ago. It uses fine, sterile needles and, in some cases, a warming herb to stimulate your energy and natural healing processes.
Acupuncture is used and recommended by many General practitioners, it is always advisable to let your GP know that you are having treatment.

Why Not Try Clinical Pilates? The emphasis is on control of the deep stabilising muscles of the trunk which support the spine, thereby reducing postural pain, enhancing efficiency of movement and improving overall well being. The exercises in Clinical Pilates are performed in a precise and fluid manner, which, combined with breathing produce improved posture and patterns of movement. At the Physio Therapy Centre we teach clinical pilates either on a 1-1 basis or in a small class. For our class details please ring our reception, who can give you all the information you require. The Physiotherapist that takes Clinical Pilates on an individual basis and using the Pilates equipment is Christine Blackburn. The classes are always taken by Chartered Physiotherapist.
